Description

EN

SPEAKING TERMS is a selling action based on communication processes, offering cookies marked with words.
The words stamped in the cookies are a selection of English words, which have been "hispanicised" and adopted in the daily slang in Puerto Rico. For example "dropéame" (from drop me off), "jaratak" (from heart attack), "jailaiter" (from highlighter) and "llámame pa'tras" (from call me back).

For the selection I have distinguished between anglicisms of general use (one can find in almost every latinamerican country and also in other languages, like sandwich, bar or cocktail) and the anglicisms of local use in San Juan, which built for me a methaphor about Puerto Rico's relationship to the USA. In this sense, the cookies talk about how we "disgest" political issues.

DE
